Some Ideas for the Kitchen

Trivets

What the heck is a Trivet??????????? Well a Trivet is what you set your hot pans on instead of the bare counter or a hot pad. I don't know how many times I've relied on a hot pad to cool a pie only to find out it burned the counter top anyway. Place one of these Trivets under your hot pan, dish, pot, whatever and worry not!! I have placed up to a 30 quart stock pot full of beans in preparation for canning on them and have not had a collapse or left a mark on the counter. These Trivets are shipped unfinished. I have found that when there is a finish and you spill something on it you feel bad and it is difficult to clean. Unfinished means that when something spills, let it dry and sand it with sand paper ( manually or with a palm sander ) and it looks like new again.

A paper towel holder that will work mounted to the wall or hang under the counter.  Either way it works.  On request the rod can be coated with a non-toxic finish and it will then double as a rolling pin.

We needed a spice rack.  This is about as simple as it gets.

The neat part of this simple spice rack is that the bar that keeps things from falling out is made of clear Plexiglas .  That lets you read the labels.

Are the top shelves in your cabinets a bit to high for you?  They are in my house.  Here is a solution to the problem.  It isn't very big but it works great!

Do you use paper plates?  We do so why hide it?
