Some Ideas for In the House

A customer asked me if I could make this.  He sent a picture and the dimensions that he wanted.  This is what turned out!  A handsome yet practical three-tiered letter rack reproduced in the Edwardian Style.  Five generous compartments for writing paper, pens and correspondence.  In Walnut  7 ½ “ x 14 ½ “ x 6 ¼ “.

This is what the customer had to say:

Dear Jim,

WHOOSH!!  To say that you did an excellent job just might be the understatement of the year!!

Thank you!!  They just arrived !!! on Friday, as you said they would.  Packing prevented any damage. None whatsoever!!

They now reside in a place of honor...atop the roll-top.  Elevated to a position of proper respect.

There was a young fellow in Italy that asked me if I could make something from wood for him.  He told me that he enjoyed school and football.  I made these bookends for him and they represent both types of "Football".

Made from Ash and Walnut with non-skid surfacing on the bottom.

Some asked me if I could make a Chess Board so

I gave this one to my Brother for Christmas.  The potential customer never did get back to me.  At least he can see what he didn't get.

Recently a prospect asked me if I had ever made a gun cabinet.  Well what do you think?

Made from solid cherry, glass and mirrors everywhere and it lights up too!  So the answer is yes I can make a gun cabinet.

Someone asked if I could make them an Entertainment Center as a Corner Unit

Made from solid Oak and Oak Plywood I don't think it turned out too bad.  Another Happy Customer.

A few years ago some friends came over with the happy news of a new baby on the way,  you guessed it, they wanted a cradle.

The Missus needed somewhere to store her blankets so a cedar lined chest was in order.

Now I admit it was from "New Yankee" plans but I did the work.  The Guidon is from my Artillery Regiment.

She wanted some place to sit and write out the bills.  Guess the dining room table wasn't good enough.  This was.

Do you have a mantle or wall that you just do not want to put a hole in?  But you just got to show off you rifle/shotgun some way or another.  Here's what I did.

No holes required.  Stands up by itself .  This one is a bit high to accommodate the long magazine but let me know and I can make it any way you want.  By the way the cradles are felt lined.

A friend asked me if I could redo her old Singer foot pedal sewing machine. I explained about loosing antique value and she said the antique was snagging her material so bad as to be useless.  So.....

Now she may not have an antique cabinet but it is smooth as glass and she is happy.

Phone stands are usually an eyesore.  Ours was.  So I made one a bit different.  It holds anything and everything including the phone.

A fella at the sawmill challenged me.  A big slab came off a log and he said, "Here, see what you can do with this!"  Well!!!!!

During the cold months it holds my plants that I normally have hanging outdoors.  The rest of the year it is a nice place to sit and look out the window, especially on a stormy night!  Good views of Lightning.

Please understand that some of the larger projects are only available locally.  While I can make just about anything.   The problem is that once I make it UPS or the US Postal Service will not ship it.

All I am saying is that if you want it I can make it but be prepared for Freight On Board (FOB) charges which are high!  18 Wheelers need to make a living too you know.  Of course you all ways have the option of coming to get it!  After all a trip to Missouri could be an adventure!!

SO WHAT CAN I MAKE FOR YOU???
